Joshua 1:6-9 Called to Courage
Fearlessly Living Bible Study
Today is day 3 of the Joshua study Live Fearlessly from Fresh Life Bible Study series
Today’s reading was from Joshua 1:6-9 AMP:
6 Be strong and confident and courageous, for you will give this people as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers (ancestors) to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do [everything] in accordance with the entire law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper and be successful wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be [a]successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
“Courage is knowing the worst and discovering that in God’s world, the very worst can’t really hurt you”
This quote from today’s study really hit hard, anxiety is a rampant spirit currently affecting people of all ages. It’s a reaction to the fear we have for the things that could happen, which with everything that has happened is understandable.
Learning to separate yourself from the world is harder than people make it out to be, “you're chosen by the most high walk light on your feet with your head held high cause God loves you” That does nothing to the bills that aren’t paid, my body hurts from a sickness that no one can see and my kids are out of control! Why don’t they tell you instead, “Don’t look to the left or the right, don’t look to those unpaid bills or crippling pain look to God. God doesn't fail and no matter what it looks like it’s going to work out for you good.”
Let’s be honest….it still does nothing.
But you know what does? Reading God’s word to affirm what He promised you just like He spoke to Joseph. It will take the anxiety away when you read that an 80+-year-old man led a group of people into the land that was promised to them years before.
It won’t immediately happen for some, it will take practice to believe in God, believe what was written, and train yourself to go to Him first.
Courage is the ability to do something that frightens you, the opposite of fear and anxiety.
God calls us to courage, He never makes us do anything.
It is a choice always to follow Him or not. If we chose to do what is asked of us then we can experience success like never before. In the reading, the people of Israel gained success by entering the promised land. Our success is fulfilling our God-given purpose in this life, courageously.

This is phenomenal! Thank you for sharing.
